Katherine Kidney is working with the Opportunity Project on its initiatives to coordinate meaningful, enriching after school experiences for students. Katherine began her career one year ago years ago at Lafayette MiddleSchool in Brooklyn, New York as a sixth-grade history teacher. She is passionate about bettering student outcomes and engagement through meaningful learning. When she was in college, Katherine became passionate about education while teaching health education in the New Haven Public School system. The summer before her senior year in college, Katherine taught seventh grade math in Somerville, Massachusetts with Breakthrough Collaborative, a national leader in college readiness and excellence serving under-resourced communities.
Katherine holds a B.A. in History from Yale University in New Haven,Connecticut.
Katherine enjoys reading philosophy, cooking, and running in her free time. She hopes to one day triumph over her allergies and own a cat or dog.
